Deep Blue Aerospace closes a Series C of nearly RMB 2 billion

The Chinese commercial launch company's new round drew industrial investors and specialist funds; the money will go to developing and industrialising its two reusable liquid-rocket families.

According to People's Financial News, Deep Blue Aerospace recently announced it has closed a Series C round totalling nearly RMB 2 billion.

Investors include Wuxi High-tech Zone Investment Holding Group, Addor Capital, Baotong Technology and Hongrun Construction, among other industrial investors and specialist funds.

According to the use of funds disclosed by the company, the money will go mainly to development and industrialisation of its two launch-vehicle families: continuing work on the Nebula-1 medium reusable liquid rocket and accelerating in-depth development of the Nebula-2 large reusable liquid rocket.

Our take: the material gives only the size of the round and the use of funds, with no valuation, equity stake or closing details, so the real effect of this money on the development pace of Deep Blue's two rocket families cannot be judged from public information.
