ADA Space launches 8 satellites for Group 02 of its Xingsuan (Star Compute) programme
ADA Space completed an eight-satellite launch from the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone, placing 8 in-house satellites into a dawn-dusk orbit to test key space computing technologies in orbit.
At 19:40 Beijing time on 14 October 2026, ADA Space used a Zhuque-2E Y4 rocket at the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone to launch 8 dawn-dusk-orbit satellites of Group 02 of its Xingsuan (Star Compute) constellation; the satellites reached their planned orbits.
According to Taibo (taibo.cn), all 8 satellites were built in-house by ADA Space: Dongtaikong (Xingshidai-39), Dongfang Tiansuan (Xingshidai-44), Liansheng Guoxing-1 (Xingshidai-45), Miniso YOYO (Xingshidai-46), Duihua (Xingshidai-47), Sichuan Keji (Xingshidai-48), Bright Laser Technologies (Xingshidai-49) and Tiantie Keji Satellite Vibration Isolation (Xingshidai-50).
The Group 02 satellites carry high-performance computing payloads, high-speed inter-satellite and satellite-to-ground laser communication payloads and low-light cameras, and will test in orbit key technologies including a 10-kilowatt-class liquid-cooled fluid loop, extra-large deployable radiator wings, an all-domain laser communication network and in-orbit training of foundation large models.
ADA Space will next carry out in-orbit testing of the Group 02 satellites, publish results in due course and continue iterating the technology.
Our take: this launch is a deployment step for Group 02 of ADA Space's Xingsuan constellation; all 8 satellites carry computing and laser communication payloads, showing the company's continued investment in space computing infrastructure.
