Chang Guang Satellite Technology (CGSTL)长光卫星
Jilin-1 optical remote-sensing constellation; remote-sensing satellite manufacturing and data services
Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. (CGSTL) was founded at the end of 2014 in Changchun, Jilin, by the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other sponsors. It develops and manufactures remote-sensing satellites, operates them in orbit and sells remote-sensing data services, running the Jilin-1 optical constellation. As of July 2026 it had placed 161 Jilin-1 constellation satellites in orbit across 30 launches, and in October 2025 it announced plans to launch 20 satellites at 0.5-metre resolution in batches and to open global bookings for in-orbit satellite transfers. On the capital side, the Shanghai Stock Exchange accepted a STAR Market IPO application in December 2022 seeking RMB 2.683 billion, which the company withdrew in December 2024; in early 2026 it started a new funding round and restarted the IPO process, and in July 2026 it closed an equity round of nearly RMB 5 billion co-led by Changfa Group and Lushi Investment, with Chengtong Fund and China Orient Asset Management participating and existing investors including Haitong Innovation and Shenzhen Capital Group following on. In October 2025 the board was re-elected, with Zhang Lei replacing Xuan Ming as chairman. On 8 May 2026 the US State Department added the company to its sanctions list, citing the supply of satellite imagery to Iran.
