National LEO satellite-internet constellation (GW constellation, 12,992 satellites planned)

China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd. (China SatNet) was established in April 2021 as a wholly state-owned central enterprise directly supervised by SASAC, responsible for building and operating China's national LEO satellite-internet constellation (the GW constellation). GW is planned at about 12,992 satellites: roughly 6,080 very-low-orbit satellites below 500 km and 6,912 at about 1,145 km. Since the first batch launched in December 2024, the constellation has been deployed on Long March 5B, 8A, 6A and 12 rockets; more than 130 satellites launched in 2025, LEO Groups 23 and 24 launched on 4 and 16 August 2026, and about 195 satellites had been launched as of 16 August 2026. In February 2026 the company raised its registered capital from RMB 10 billion to RMB 10.9 billion and began procurement for mass production of phased-array broadband terminals and AI capability; subsidiary SatNet Digital's registered capital rose from RMB 120 million to RMB 700 million in August 2025. In early 2026 the company changed its legal representative and general manager. On launch procurement, LandSpace has disclosed a formal launch-services contract with China SatNet. China SatNet is unlisted and discloses no financials.
