Shanghai Gesi Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. was established on 21 January 2022 in Songjiang District, Shanghai, with Cao Jin as legal representative. It was set up by Shanghai Zhongke Chenxin Satellite Technology (34.8028%) and Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology, the Qianfan constellation operator (31.5997%); on a look-through basis Shanghai Alliance Investment holds 38.31%. The company designs and mass-produces commercial satellites, supplying LEO communications satellites for the Qianfan (G60) constellation. Its G60 satellite digital factory in Songjiang entered production on 27 December 2023, when the first satellite rolled off the line. An on-site report by Jiemian News in March 2026 described the plant as a line sized for 300 satellites a year, producing LEO satellites in the 240 kg class. A second-phase plant was signed with Songjiang District on 25 March 2025 with planned investment of RMB 1.2 billion, designed for 150 tonne-class satellites and 300 sub-500 kg satellites a year at a takt of one satellite per day. On funding, the company closed an angel round in June 2023, an A round of nearly RMB 600 million in November 2023 and an A+ round of more than RMB 1 billion in December 2024, for more than RMB 1.6 billion in total. Manufacturing responsibility within the Qianfan programme is split: industry media reported in February 2026 that assembly, integration and test of Qianfan networking satellites is mainly carried out by Shanghai Gesi Information Technology, a sister company under the same controlling shareholder, while official launch releases name the Shanghai Engineering Center for Microsatellites as developer. No independent news coverage specific to Gesi Aerospace itself was found after March 2026, and the company's revenue, cumulative deliveries and valuation are not publicly disclosed.
