Laser Starcom极光星通

Spaceborne, airborne and ground laser communication terminals; laser-link network solutions

Laser Starcom (Beijing Jiguang Xingtong Technology Co., Ltd.) was founded on 26 August 2020 and is registered in Haidian District, Beijing; its legal representative and founder is Wu Shaojun. According to 36Kr, Wu was formerly a chief designer in China's crewed spaceflight programme, and the core team comes from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Huawei and ZTE. The company develops space laser communication terminals for spaceborne, airborne and ground use; 36Kr reported that they support rates from 10 Gbps to 400 Gbps. In June 2024 the company's own Jiguang constellation satellites 01 and 02 launched on Ceres-1 Y12 for in-orbit inter-satellite laser-link tests. According to 36Kr in May 2025, the company had 12 terminals in orbit as of 2024, and annual capacity reached 100 units in 2024 with a plan to expand to 400 in 2025; PEdaily still cited 12 terminals in orbit in February 2026. On funding, the company announced a Series A4 round of nearly RMB 300 million in February 2026, following a Series A++ round of more than RMB 100 million in May 2025 and an investment of undisclosed size from CDB Sci-Tech Innovation in August 2025. Round labels differ across sources (36Kr's database says A++++, Taibo's company page says A+); we follow the company release, which says A4. According to Taibo, citing the official WeChat account of Today Minhang, construction of its production and R&D (Shanghai) headquarters began on 9 October 2026 at the Caohejing Zhuanqiao Science and Technology Oasis in Minhang, with planned capacity of 800 laser communication terminals (units/sets) a year.
