Spacety (legal name Spacety Co., Ltd., converted in December 2025 from Changsha Tianyi Space Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd.) is headquartered in the Changsha High-tech Zone; founder Yang Feng is its legal representative and registered capital is RMB 50 million. Its IPO tutoring filing gives an incorporation date of 18 May 2015, while most media accounts date the company's start to January 2016. Spacety began with research and experimental satellites, launching its first satellite Xiaoxiang-1 on 10 November 2016, then moved into synthetic aperture radar (SAR) remote sensing from 2019, launching Hisea-1 on 22 December 2020 and subsequently Chaohu-1, Fucheng-1 and Shenqi-1/2. It plans a mixed multi-inclination constellation of 120 satellites and covers satellite manufacturing, constellation operation and SAR data services, with applications in disaster prevention, infrastructure deformation monitoring and emergency management. As of September 2025 it had completed 21 space missions and launched 38 satellites, 31 of them research satellites, serving close to a hundred institutes, universities and commercial customers. On the capital side it closed a D+ round in December 2025 and announced on 10 April 2026 that cumulative fundraising had reached RMB 1.3 billion, with investors including the Liangxi Kechuang Phase II fund, Turing Capital, Puhua Capital, Guoxin Guozheng and Xiangjiang Guotou; Yang Feng directly and indirectly controls 30.15% of the equity. In February 2026 the company completed an A-share IPO tutoring filing with the Hunan securities regulator, with Guotai Haitong as tutor. On compliance, the company has been on the US Entity List since 2023 and is also designated by the US Treasury. Revenue and net loss are not publicly disclosed.

At 19:39 on 5 September a Ceres-1 Y15 rocket placed Yunyao-1 27 into orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, starting in-orbit validation of Spacety's new-generation satellite platform, the first to combine Hall electric propulsion, fibre-optic gyros, a high-performance computing board and a Compton telescope; the company's cumulative launches reached 38 satellites.
