Several commercial space companies and research institutions launched the OpenSpace open-source space ecosystem and an open-source computing constellation plan, which aims to turn satellites into in-orbit space servers. Its first phase plans to launch 2,600 satellites.
Chinese space laser communication unit maker Huanxin Yilian announced a strategic funding round described as on the RMB 100 million scale, alongside large-scale batch delivery of its space-grade laser products. Multiple units launched on the Zhuque-2E Y4 rocket and are operating stably in orbit.
GEOVIS announced on the evening of 15 October that it will set up a company with Sugon, Hygon and 13 other parties to design, build and operate a space computing constellation. Registered capital is planned at RMB 1.5 billion, and Anhui and Hefei state-backed funds would hold about 62.67%.

At 12:03 on 20 September, CAS Space launched the Kinetica-1 Y18 from the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone, placing nine satellites including Qinling-01/02, Pujiang-4 and Pengcheng Nanke-1 into their planned orbits. It was the 16th flight of the Kinetica-1 and the 17th launch of the Kinetica family, which has now put one spacecraft and 121 satellites into orbit. CAS Space says its annual production capacity has reached 30 rockets and its launch campaign has been cut to under 10 days.
At 14:26 on 15 September, LandSpace's Zhuque-2E Y7 lifted off from the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone and placed 10 satellites for Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology (the Qianfan constellation) into a 900 km orbit. It was the ninth flight of the Zhuque-2 series and the series' first large-scale satellite-internet deployment. LandSpace is meanwhile pursuing a STAR Market IPO seeking RMB 7.5 billion.
Galactic Energy's Pallas-1 lifted off at 10:34:35 Beijing time on 1 September from the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Test Zone in Jiuquan and reached its planned orbit. The 52-metre, 3.35-metre-diameter rocket weighs about 283 tonnes at liftoff with 350 tonnes of thrust; its first stage clusters seven in-house Cangqiong-50 kerosene-LOX engines, a first for a Chinese private rocket.
Sina Finance reports that Xingkan Jiuzhou, founded in late 2023, is leading a radio-frequency sensing constellation called Diting. The first three satellites, built by Chang Guang Satellite Technology, are to launch from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre for on-orbit testing of space-based electromagnetic spectrum geolocation. As of publication we found no independent confirmation that the launch has taken place.
GalaxySpace's Lingzhi-09 cubesat for Thailand reached orbit on a Long March 6C on 25 August and was delivered to GISTDA — the first whole-satellite export to Southeast Asia by a Chinese private company.
At the 25 August forum, the Wenchang Space City administration signed with 17 industry-chain companies, Hainan Aerospace Group signed with six institutions, and two cross-border space cooperation platforms were unveiled.
